Mullahs in Teheran are relentlessly testing patience of the free world, and get away with it. In a few months Iran or Iran-supported militias had sabotaged UAE tankers, kidnapped a British tanker, smuggled oil to Syria and partially shut down Saudi oil infrastructure with drone attack.
What was the West response?
Trump fired John Bolton, the 27th National Security Advisor of the United States, notoriously tough on Iran.
UK played the farce of releasing the Iranian smuggler tanker through Gibraltar’s court decision only to be spit in face by immediate oil delivery to Syrian regime.
France offered to pacify Teheran by sanction relief in order to return Iran into nuclear deal compliance mode in the best Obama traditions.
Appeasement does not work with authoritarian regimes. It did not work in Munich on 30 September 1938, it will not work in 2019, it will not work ever.
