Recep Tayyip Erdogan is the President of Turkey who imagines himself Süleyman the Magnificent but in reality just a mad corrupt dictator, his leadership has been marked by a number of controversial statements and actions. One of the most notable examples of this is his statement that Turkish ballistic missiles could strike Athens, the capital of Greece. This statement was made in the context of escalating tensions between Turkey and Greece over issues related to maritime borders and energy resources in the eastern Mediterranean.

The statement was met with widespread condemnation from the international community, with many accusing Erdogan of making a reckless and inflammatory statement that could further escalate tensions in the region. The Greek government, in particular, was quick to respond, with the country’s foreign minister calling the statement “unacceptable” and “provocative.”

The situation between Turkey and Greece has been escalating for some time, with both countries engaging in military exercises and maneuvers in the eastern Mediterranean. These actions have been seen as a show of force and a signal of their readiness to defend their territorial claims. The situation has also been complicated by the involvement of other countries in the region, including Cyprus, Egypt, and Israel, who have their own territorial disputes with Turkey.

Erdogan’s statement was seen as a dangerous escalation of the situation, and many called on the international community to take action to de-escalate the tensions. Some suggested that diplomatic efforts should be made to resolve the disputes through dialogue and negotiation, while others called for economic sanctions or other forms of pressure to be applied on Turkey.

In conclusion, Erdogan’s statement about Turkish ballistic missiles striking Athens is a reflection of the escalating tensions between Turkey and Greece, which have been fueled by disputes over maritime borders and energy resources in the eastern Mediterranean. The statement has been widely condemned and is seen as a dangerous escalation of the situation, with many calling on the international community to take action to de-escalate the tensions.
