It’s Not About Palestine: Jew Hatred, Anti-Democracy, and the Islamist Cult of Death Against Israel and the West

September 24, 2025 By Opinion.org Leave a Comment

The great fraud of our time is the insistence that the Middle East conflict is fundamentally about Palestine. It is not. Palestine has been the pretext, the camouflage, the permanent excuse, but never the true cause. What drives the unrelenting hostility of Arab and Islamic regimes toward Israel is something older, uglier, and more unyielding: Jew hatred fused with a visceral contempt for democracy, women’s equality, and Western liberalism itself. The war against Israel is a civilizational struggle, where the Islamist cult of death collides head-on with the values of life, liberty, and human dignity.

Israel’s very existence exposes the truth: the Arab and Islamic world has failed to progress not because it cannot, but because it will not. It has chosen resentment over reform, antisemitism over tolerance, repression over democracy, and the cult of death over the sanctity of life. Every time Israel thrives — in science, medicine, agriculture, technology, and culture — it shows what is possible when a people embrace freedom and responsibility. And every time it thrives, its neighbors are reminded that they too could succeed, if only they abandoned their obsession with hatred. That humiliation is intolerable, which is why their war against Israel can never truly end.

At the heart of the conflict is not land but ideology. Israel is a democracy; its enemies despise democracy. Israel protects minorities; its enemies persecute them. Israel elevates women; its enemies suppress them. Israel celebrates life; its enemies worship death. These are not incidental differences. They are the essence of the war. Israel, by existing, proves that another path is possible. And that proof is what dictators, theocrats, and jihadists cannot allow.

The cult of death embodied by Hamas, Hezbollah, and their patrons turns children into suicide bombers, schools into armories, and civilians into human shields. Martyrdom is glorified, while life is devalued. Israel, by contrast, invests everything into defending life — building shelters for its people, developing medicine for the world, and fighting wars reluctantly but decisively. This contrast is unbearable to those who have built entire political systems on victimhood, violence, and nihilism.

And what makes the tragedy worse is Western appeasement. France, the UK, Canada, Australia, Belgium, and others have all indulged the fantasy of a “Palestinian state” that exists only as a political weapon. They do this not out of conviction but out of cowardice — to appease radical elements within their own societies, to pretend that the problem is Israel instead of Islamist hatred. In doing so, they betray not only Israel but also the democratic values they claim to uphold. They reward terrorism with recognition, and they validate the very forces that despise democracy, women’s equality, and liberalism itself.

The core truth cannot be avoided: Israel succeeds because it embraces life, while its enemies fail because they embrace hatred. Israel progresses because it chooses freedom; its enemies stagnate because they choose repression. Israel thrives because it believes in democracy; its enemies collapse because they fear it. This is not a territorial dispute. It is a clash of civilizations, and it will not end until the West finds the courage to say so openly.

The conflict is not about Palestine. It is about Jew hatred. It is about anti-democracy. It is about the medieval cult of death that cannot tolerate the existence of a Jewish, democratic state thriving in its midst. Israel’s existence is the living proof of what the Arab and Islamic world could be — and that is why they are at war with it.
