European leaders repeatedly claim they stand with Ukraine, but words alone do not win wars. If they truly supported Ukraine, they would have acted decisively tonight—sending financial aid, delivering ammunition without delay, announcing a formal alliance, and committing to the long-term defense of the continent. Anything short of this is mere political theater, designed to placate public opinion while avoiding real responsibility.
Ukraine is not just fighting for itself; it is the frontline of European security. Every day that passes without sufficient military and economic support brings Russia closer to victory, and that victory will not stop at Ukraine’s borders. If Europe does not bolster its defenses now, the next battles may take place within NATO territory. The reality is clear: deterrence requires commitment. That means expanding armies, raising defense budgets, and preparing for a future where war is no longer just a distant possibility but a looming threat.
Without immediate and sustained action, Ukraine will fall. And if Ukraine falls, Europe will not be safe. A Russian victory would embolden authoritarian regimes worldwide and destabilize the very foundation of European security. The idea that diplomacy or sanctions alone can contain the threat is a fantasy. The only way to secure peace is to prepare for war. The time for vague promises and delayed aid is over—either Europe steps up now, or it risks its own future under the shadow of conflict and occupation.
